The Masjid-e-Hussain Cooked Meal Project
Every day, children at Masjid-e-Hussain wait for their only hot meal. For many, this might be the only proper food they eat all day. These orphaned and needy children rely on our community’s kindness to fill their empty stomachs.
Why Cooked Meals Matter
A hot, fresh meal does more than just fill a hungry stomach:
- It gives children energy to learn and play
- It shows them that people care about their well-being
- It brings children together to share a meal as a family
- It provides balanced nutrition they might not get otherwise
One small child told us: “The best part of my day is when we all sit together for our hot meal. It makes me feel like I have a family again.
"Give food, out of love for Him, to the poor and the orphan and the captive, [saying] “We feed you, for Allah’s pleasure only — We desire from you neither reward nor thanks.”
